About the company:

The State Museum of Natural History in Braunschweig is a museum of the history of zoology and the environment, located in Braunschweig. The museum was opened in 1754 as the Ducal Office of Art and Nature.

In the museum you can get acquainted with scientific and exhibition collections, and the scientific collection is much larger. It covers almost all types of wildlife: mammals, birds, amphibians and reptiles, various types of insects, shells and shellfish, as well as the collection covers preparations from the field of paleontology and much more.

The bright hall exhibits the most valuable exhibits of the museum, it houses permanent exhibitions on the topics “Aquarium”, “Dioramas” (animals in their habitat), birds, insects, invertebrates and fossils.

The building of the modern museum was originally built for the Pedagogical Institute. During the Second World War, it was not damaged, and soon work began on the creation of a museum. In the early 50s, the so-called “dioramas” were developed here, where stuffed animals were placed in their usual habitat created by people. Back then, it was something new for both workers and visitors, but today it is a museum weekday.
