Church of the Three Magi

Dreikonigskirche, Hauptstraß e 23, 01097 Dresden, Deutschland

Description:

The Three Magi Church is one of the oldest churches in Dresden.

The first mention of this church appeared in 1421. In 1685, the church building was destroyed by fire. Three years later, the Church of the Three Magi was restored, but in 1732 it was demolished due to the fact that the city was rebuilt. It was built on a new site, and in 1739 the church was opened. Between 1854 and 1857, a bell tower was added to the west side of the church.

Impressive in the interior of the church is its 7-meter altar, as well as a 12-meter frieze of sandstone, on which you can see the image of the “Dresden Dance of Death”.
