Mount Kotmar

Kottmarbergbaude 1, 02739 Eibau, Germany

Description:

Kotmar is a mountain in Germany, which is part of the Luzhitsk mountain system. In the past, this place was a volcano consisting of basalt rocks, and Kotmar is the part that remained from it over time. Kotmar since 1311 belongs to the territory of the city of Lebau. Along its foot flows the source of the river bed Spree. At the top of the mountain there is an observation tower and a restaurant.

In the 60s of the last century, a springboard was built on the slope of Kotmar, which was used by athletes of the BSH Leutex Neugersdorf club, located in the neighboring town of Neugersdorf. From the foot of the mountain to the top are wooden steps that facilitate the climb for tourists. Climbing the mountain, you can rest, sitting on comfortable benches and inhaling clean, mountain air.
