Augusta Bridge
Description:
The Augusta Bridge is one of the main attractions of Dresden, which offers a magnificent panorama of the Elbe River. It was built in the XIII century, and later restored by order of Augustus the Strong. The Augusta Bridge gained its popularity thanks to the artist Canaletto, who in the foreground of his canvas depicted a river and a structure gracefully thrown from one bank to the other. On the left side of the bridge there is the House of the Land Estates, and a little further - "Secundogenitur", next to which the Albertinum room with the famous Bruhl terrace and the Academy of Arts are successfully located.
On the right side of the bridge, at the very fastening, is the Catholic Court Church and the magnificent Semper Opera House. Behind these buildings is the "Italian Village" and "Zwinger" - a beautiful palace ensemble. Today, the bridge has retained its former appearance and has become available for public transport. The magnificent panoramas opening from the August Bridge have long attracted artists from all over the world, now you can meet photographers enthusiastically taking pictures that will occupy the covers of travel magazines and calendars.
