Fountain of Cecilia

Cacilienbrunnenstrase 36, Heilbronn, Germany

Description:

The Cecilia Fountain is the work of architect Hans Stefan and sculptor Jacob Müller. The result of the work was not just a fountain, but a whole stone pavilion with a valm roof, in the center of which there is a spring with mineral water and a well room.

The fountain got its name thanks to the poet Sebastian Hornmold, who in his poem, dated 1632, described the meaning and miraculous abilities of the source of Cecilia.

For a long time, the well room served as a source of water for all residents of the city, and the pavilion itself became a place of escape from hot weather and the center of various city events.
