Fountain of Zibenrerenbrunnen
Kirchbrunnenstrase, Heilbronn, Germany
Description:
The Zeebenrerenbrunnen Fountain is one of the many attractions of Heilbronn. The construction was based on seven pipelines. Its main feature is the decorated top, as well as the front part, richly decorated with the relief of Jesus Christ and the Samaritan holding a jug of water. One of the inscriptions on the wall of the fountain says that water gives eternal life.
The gates of Ziebenrehrenbrunnen are decorated with paintings with medallions, which show the image of Carlmann – Frankish majordom, as well as Charles IV, who assigned Heilbronn the status of an imperial city. On both sides of the cornice are figures of flag-bearers and angels.
The modern fountain of Zibenrerenbrunnen is an exact copy of the structure, which was damaged during the bombing of the city in 1944. Only in the current version, five figures are missing.
