Burresheimer Hof Mansion
Description:
The Burresheimer Hof mansion appeared in 1659-60, on the west side of the Old Trading House, on Florinsmarkt Square within the Old Town, 500 meters north of the Trading Square.
Burresheimer Hof is the center of a small architectural complex of four buildings: from the west it is adjacent to the wing and the building of the early 18th century, an additional gallery on the Moselle side was added in 1770.
Built in 1659-60, the main building did not last long. Already in 1688 it was destroyed during the War of the Palatinate Succession along with Old Kaufhaus. It was rebuilt, and now it is inherited by the Burresheimer family, which subsequently gave the name to the entire architectural complex.
The two-storey main building is rectangular in plan, with its narrow facades with multi-stage pediments it faces the square and the Moselle embankment. The high gable roof is cut through three rows of windows - lucarna under triangular pediments. On the southeast corner of the building in the niche stands a sculpture of St. Lawrence of the 18th century.
