Description:
The Achilleon Palace is located on the island of Kerkyra (Corfu) in northern Greece. This building was formerly the seat of Queen Elizabeth of Austria and is now a unique museum. It was built in 1890. She loved the culture of Greece, and the climate made it possible to improve her health. The author of the project is architect Rafael Caritto. The entire territory is 200 thousand square meters. Ernst Gerter worked on the sculptures of the palace. Paintings were done by Franz von Mach and Vincenzo Galloppi.
At the beginning of the 20th century, the palace was empty and fell into decline. The former beauty and destination were returned only in 1983, when it was transferred to the ownership of the Greek tourism organization. Visitors will be able to see here paintings and frescoes, paintings, interior items, household, paintings, Doric columns.
