Evening walk in Corfu
Description:
The city of Corfu... tranquility and peace, aristocratic becoming and pride... I invite you to this unique world, the world between two fortresses, the historical and cultural center of life of the island with its squares, historical quarters, churches and monuments, narrow Venetian streets, tourist shops and traditional restaurants, the tables of which, so casually, from year to year, take part of the pedestrian zone.
During our walk we will get acquainted with epochs, history of development and development of the city, with its borders and territorial structure. We will walk through the famous Spianada Square and Liston Street, stop at the monuments to Darrell and Schulenberg, see the famous British Palace and Campielo quarter, visit the Church of St. Spyridon and the Cathedral, walk along the Muraya Embankment and Cofinetta Square...
On our way, the Vesantine period will imperceptibly replace the French, the Venetian – the English, the period of independence of the island – the period of cruel Neapolitan rule. And, of course, this evening we will not be without a cup of fragrant Greek coffee, a portion of homemade ice cream or dinner in one of the best restaurants on the island with traditional Kerkerian cuisine, a portion of dorado and a glass of limonchelo, in the picturesque harbor of the old Venetian port.
