Wine factory-museum Callinico

On the beautiful island of Zakynthos, in the central village of Kalipado, is the family winery Callinico. The fact that the locals are fond of the production of this divine drink is evidenced by the numerous vineyards located in the vicinity of Kalipado. They all belong to either the Voultsou family or their companions.

19 thousand square meters of the island are endless fields of vineyards. More than a hundred different varieties are grown here, but only 25 of them become worthy of turning into wine. Among them, the varieties Gustulidi, Pavlos, Skiadipoulos for the production of white wine and, for example, Augustiatis, Black Rombola, and Katsakulias for red wine. The most famous local wine is Verdea. It began to be prepared at the very beginning of the nineteenth century.
