What awaits you
Religions and life
In the life of a believer, religion is not an abstract idea, but a very “applied” one: it is not only a worldview, but also a set of precepts. I will tell you how it is customary to behave in churches of different faiths, when and how people accept the faith in each of them and how the transition from one religion to another takes place. Who are the "crosses" and "heroes"? Why do women only go to the second floor of synagogues and men take off their hats before entering church? You will find many amazing discoveries and entertaining stories related to the formation of confessions and the construction of religious buildings, as well as a deep cognitive immersion in religious traditions.
Temples and gods
What is the peculiarity of Georgian icon painting? How does the Russian Orthodox iconostasis work, and why did the pigeon be chosen as a symbol of the Holy Spirit? Who was Martin Luther and why is he considered the founder of capitalism? In what language are Catholic services conducted? You will learn the answers to these and many other questions by visiting the synagogue, mosque, church, Gregorian church and Orthodox church with me. I will teach you to “read” the symbolism of colors and images on icons, as well as the “arrangement” of the iconostasis, tell you about Jewish holidays, the reasons for the dissimilarity of Christian churches.
You will understand what qualities unite all nine of the most famous religions, and temples of other faiths will turn into interesting monuments, and the culture of different faiths will become closer.
