Bicycle tour of Mtirala National Park
Description:
Ride along the picturesque paths of the Colchis forest and swim in a mountain lake
Mtirala National Park is one of the most beautiful corners of Adjara with an amazing landscape that is definitely worth exploring. On the bike tour we will go down the mountain trails, admiring the subtropical landscapes, plunge into the waters of the mountain lake, talk about the cultural features of Batumi and relax, having a snack on local cuisine. As a result, you will get acquainted with the world of pristine Adjarian nature in the format of active recreation.
What awaits you
From Batumi on a minivan we will climb the “weeping” mountain Mtirala, which got its name due to the incredible amount of rainfall here. The slopes of the national park will amaze you with a riot of subtropical vegetation, interesting mountain landscapes and an exceptional diversity of local flora. And on the road you will be accompanied by stories about the features of the Mtirala Park, the nature of Adjara and the life of the indigenous people.
A little stroll through the upper sections of Mtirala, we will begin to descend by bicycle from the mountain, driving along the paths of the ancient Colchis forest. At each turn you will be greeted by spectacular mountain landscapes - in the most picturesque places we will arrange photo-pauses. On the route you will meet the most beautiful locations of the park: swim in the cleanest mountain lake, relax at the 20-meter waterfall of Tsabilnari, cross the river on an unusual cable car, working on "manual traction" and see houses made of chestnut, which are more than two centuries. Also, on the way, we'll stop at a natural honey shop and, when you get hungry, stop for lunch in the picnic area.
