Description:
Tbilisi is a city founded on two sides of the Kura River (Mtkvari) in the 5th century AD.

Discovered here artifacts and buildings as early as 2 centuries BC speak of the development of hot springs still people in ancient times. This place lay on the Silk Road and was the last fort to the capital of what was then Iberia (Greek name) or Kartli, as the locals called it. The basis of the city of Tbilisi (warm water) is associated with the name of Tsar Vakhtang Gorgasali, who laid here the capital and fortress walls for two parts of the city, on the right bank the trading city, on the left the royal palace and courtiers.
