Croatian Book Day
Description:
In 1996, the Assembly of the Republic of Croatia declared April 22 as Croatian Book Day.
On this day in 1501, the book “The Book of Marco Marulic, Splitnik, which contains the story of the holy widow Judith, written in Croatian verses”, was completed.
In 1900 the Society of Croatian Writers was founded.
