May 5, 1939 in Banovina Hrvatsk was announced the establishment of a new holiday - Day of Croatian lexicography.
On May 5, 1999, the presentation of the capital work of Croatian lexicography, the first of the 11 volumes of the Croatian Encyclopedia, took place, and shortly before that, the Day of Croatian Lexicography was revived, and it was to this day that the first volume of the encyclopedia was published.
