City museum
Trg Marš ala Tita, 52210, Rovinj, Croatia
About the company:
The city museum of Rovinj is housed in a chic Baroque palace, which for two centuries was the residence of the princely Califfi family. This rich and influential family settled here from the 17th to the 18th century.
In the architecture of the palace building there is a perfectly sustained style of the era of the Venetian Republic. After World War II, the Califfi Palace was turned into a museum-gallery at the initiative of local artists. Today there are more than one and a half thousand paintings by famous artists, as well as the protagonists of modern art. In addition to paintings, behind the walls of the museum there are many sculptures, models of ships and national costumes. It is worth highlighting the collection of archaeological finds that allow you to visually learn about how the wonderful city of Rovinj lived and developed.
