Zadar Airport is located in Croatia, 8 kilometers from the city of Zadar. The airport was built in 1968.
Zadar airport for many years was one of the few airports in the world where the taxiway crossed the highway. However, on April 7, 2010, this feature disappeared: the road was closed.
In the 1990s, during the war in Yugoslavia, Zadar airport was almost completely destroyed. In the mid-1990s, the airport was restored.
Now Zadar airport continues to develop: the terminal for passengers was expanded, and a new runway was created. As of 2011, the passenger turnover of the airport is about three hundred thousand people.
