Park Maximir
Description:
Zagreb Maksimir Park has a long history. The park was founded in 1794 by Bishop Maximilian Vrhovac, after whom it was named. Over the past centuries, Maksimir Park has changed many times - deforestation was carried out here, entire lakes were dug up, bridges and pavilions were built.
Maximir Park occupies a fairly extensive area of 18 hectares. Inside the park is the city zoo and the Botanical Garden. The main attractions of the park are two historical pavilions - the Bellevue Pavilion and the Echo Pavilion.
The landscape of Maximir Park includes flower gardens, alleys, forest areas and artificial lakes. The park is ideal for slow walks and romantic dates.
