Museum of Unhappy Love

Ć irilometodska 2, 10000, Zagreb, Croatia

About the company:

Just a few years ago, a new museum opened in the Croatian capital. Its main theme is devoted to failed love relationships. The museum collection consists of items donated to the museum by former lovers.

Exhibits of the museum are very original, such as the axe of a lesbian, which she used to destroy the furniture of her friend after the breakup of the relationship. Or, for example, a broken Vespa scooter, purchased for a loved one, but suffered after the breakup. Or a coffee machine, which was on display simply because the “beloved” preferred caffeine to the beloved. The concept of the museum was invented by artists Olinka Vistice and Drazen Grubisic. After their breakup, they decided to creatively use common things and instead of throwing everything away, they gathered everything in a large collection of a museum of broken relationships.

The creators of the museum believe that a visit to the museum can have a therapeutic effect for people experiencing a breakup. But in general, visitors to the museum are three categories: 1. just curious people, 2. those who are experiencing a gap and suffering, 3. those who replenish the museum collection.
