Cirilometodska ulica 2, 10000, Zagreb, Croatia
About the company:
The Museum of Broken Hearts in Zagreb is one of the most unusual museums in the world. Here are collected exhibits associated with unhappy love, love suffering and parting, faded feelings.
The Broken Hearts Museum in Zagreb was founded in 2006 by a couple who decided to end their relationship. But what was to be done with the multitude of things, trinkets, valentines, photos that had bonded the couple for so many years? It was a pity to throw away, so they decided to create a museum dedicated to the faded feelings. Both the young man and the girl were artists, so there were no problems with the design of the museum. To replenish the collection they helped friends, and later joined and complete strangers.
Among the exhibits of the museum there are not only banal and familiar objects. A lesbian girl from Germany sent an axe that she bought after breaking up with her beloved. A war veteran gave the museum a prosthetic leg that survived his love. There is a coffee machine, a scooter, and mobile phones. Wedding dresses and other attributes. All items are accompanied by descriptions or letters from the people who sent them. According to the founders of the museum, visiting the exhibition helps to maintain peace of mind for those who have suffered as a result of the breakup of relations.
