Devdan - Treasures of the Archipelago
Description:
We invite you to learn all about the treasures of the Indonesian archipelago through the exciting Devdan show.
The word DEVDAN comes from the Sanskrit “Virgin” and “Dhana”, which means “God’s grace”. The treasures of Indonesia are God’s gifts to the people of Indonesia. The story of DEVDAN begins when two young children, tired of a boring excursion, "fight back" from the group. The rock caught their attention. They climb the rock and find a treasure chest containing various unique items. An hour and a half of magnificent, enticing and daring show that offers its viewers an incredibly exciting journey through the rich culture and traditions of the Indonesian Archipelago. Together with the heroes, you will make a journey through the impressively picturesque Bali, Sumatra, Java, Borneo and Pappua, explore the beauty and authentic heritage of the Indonesian Archipelago, represented by amazing cultural dances combined with modern dance productions in the style of hip-hop, dazzling costumes, stunningly unique acrobatic numbers, hundreds of colorful spotlights, play of light and sound - all this makes the Show truly unique and interesting for all ages! The whole Devdan show consists of several parts, each of which is dedicated to a specific region of Indonesia and their cultural characteristics.
Judging by the way Balinese dances were presented, it is hardly worth considering this show from the point of view of a reliable study of Indonesian culture - too much curtsey is made towards theatricality and artistry. But if you come to Bali, and in addition to just a beautiful production, you want to see with one eye what, in general, happens on other islands - you will definitely like it! The show is held four times a week at Bali’s newest and most advanced theatre complex, located in the heart of Nusa Dua. Acrobats and artists from all over Indonesia do their best to provide guests with one of the most unforgettable pastimes in Bali. Be sure to book a place in advance and get ready for the most beautiful show in Bali.
