Brahmavihara Aram Temple

22 km west of Singaraja, about 11 km from Lovina resort, Banjar, Bali Island, Indonesia

Description:

Brahmavihara Aram is the largest and almost the only Buddhist temple in Bali. It was built in 1969 and has been fully operational since 1973.

The complex of buildings is designed in the traditional Buddhist style: orange roofs, bright and diverse decor of rooms, golden Buddha statues, a lot of greenery and flowers. The elusive charm of the temple adds a typical Balinese carving, which decorates the walls of buildings. Other signs of Balinese Hinduism are the dreaded nude adorning the entrance and the bell-shaped architectural ornaments. They are made of dark stone and look very original.

Special meditation retreats are held here from time to time. But it is not forbidden to do it yourself, the entrance is open to everyone.
