Taman Gili Museum

Jalan Untung Surapati, Klungkung, Indonesia

About the company:

Architectural complex Taman Gili, whose name translates as "Secret Garden" is the brightest example of the architecture of the island of Bali XVIII-XIX centuries. On the territory of the amazing palace complex there is a local history museum and two pavilions, which present frescoes of the XVIII century.

At the entrance to the complex, a magnificent composition opens to the eye, in the center of which there is a vast pond with carps and lotuses, and on both sides there are two pavilions-gazebos. The square in front of the main building is just opposite the pond. The ceilings of the gazebos are painted with picturesque frescoes that depict scenes of heaven and hell.

The building of the palace itself exhibits a collection of ritual and household utensils, various works of artisans from Klungkung. If you go to the left wing of the palace, you can see the collection of sculptures and paintings by Emilio Ambron.

A visit to this museum will undoubtedly bring an excellent impression of the palace architecture, expand knowledge and provide an opportunity to see the culture of Bali as Emilio Ambrona saw it.
