Ayung River
Description:
The Ayung River, about 12 kilometers long, is the longest river on the Indonesian island of Bali. It originates near the mountain ranges in the north of the island and flows into the Badung Strait of the Bali Sea.
The Ayung River flows through Denpasar, the capital and largest city of Bali. Most of the river flows in the virgin jungle. On the shores you can see centuries-old lianas, strange plants and giant tree ferns. The waters of the river attract fans of rafting - sports rafting on mountain rivers on inflatable vessels - rafts, for which the local company Sobek arranges regular competitions.
