River Telag Waja
Jl. Raya Muncan-Besakih, Rendang - Karangasem - Bali Indonesia
Description:
The Telaga Waja River, or White Water, is considered sacred to locals. It is one of the longest rivers in the eastern part of the island of Bali. The Telag Waja River flows in the foothills of the sacred Mount Agung, an active volcano that last erupted in 1960.
Nearby is the village of Munkan, Karangasem district. Telag Waj can be reached within about an hour and a half from Denpasar, Kuta, Nusa Dua, Seminyak, and other areas. The Telag Waja River remains the best on the island of Bali for rafting because the river flows along the green expanses of fields, valleys, hills, cliffs and waterfalls. This river has 3-4 levels of difficulty, but is still considered safe for beginners. The length of the river is 16 kilometers from the starting point to the end point, and river walks are available year-round. The river offers a beautiful view of rice fields, tropical forests and waterfalls.
