Mandiri Bank Museum

Jalan Asemka-Petongkangan, Ps. Pagi, Indonesia

About the company:

One of Jakarta’s many attractions is the Mandiri Bank Museum, which opened in 1998. It is located in a historic building in the Old Town, which formerly housed the headquarters of the Dutch Trading Society. The total area of the museum is 10 thousand square meters.

Here is a collection of items related to banking in the colonial era, such as securities, numismatic collections, money meters and all sorts of safes. The attractive design of the exhibition halls allows visitors to plunge into the atmosphere of the old bank during the years of its prosperity. At the entrance, visitors are greeted by two dummies of Dutch soldiers in uniform. In one of the halls of the museum there are two huge books weighing 20 and 28 kilograms, in which the conclusion of financial transactions was recorded.

The amazing stained glass windows that adorn the walls depict the four seasons inherent in Europe. The office and library remain unchanged. Mannequins of bank employees are placed in all halls of the museum, which are in perfect clean and well-groomed condition.
