Archaeological Museum in Tehran
30th Tir St, Imam Khomeini Avenue, Tehran 19395, Iran.
About the company:
The largest of all the museums in Tehran is the Archaeological Museum, which opened in 1937. The cultural and historical building was designed by Andrea Godard, who is a famous architect of that time.
The museum collection consists of pottery, stone sculptures, ceramics and various carved ornaments of the V and IV millennia BC. The most valuable exhibits of Iran were not sent to the British National Gallery and the Louvre, but were exhibited in the Archaeological Museum of Tehran, which is also called the Museum of Ancient Iran. The building is rich in a number of important expositions, located chronologically and by dynasties.
The Treasure Hall features silver and gold items, as well as valuable finds from various periods: a golden bowl from Hasanlu and Xerxes, silver dishes from the Sassanian era, friezes from Achaemenid gold and much more.
In the Museum of Archaeology, everyone will find a section to their liking and plunge into the interesting world of pre-Islamic and Islamic periods.
