Tehran

The railway station

Description:

Tehran Central Railway Station was built in the 1920s by the great Kiev architect of Polish origin, Vladislav Gorodetsky, who emigrated to Iran. Its station is one of the largest on the Trans-Iranian Railway. The station building is located in the south of Tehran, at the beginning of Vali Asr Boulevard, on the south side of Railway Square. The total area of the station is 500 square meters.

On the first floor of the building there are two comfortable waiting rooms, as well as a buffet and four ticket offices, two of which specialize in pre-sale tickets. On the second floor there is an administrative department of the station, a control center, as well as a police station. On the territory of the station there are two passages - ground and underground, which are very convenient to get to the trains.

On the station territory there is a square equipped with comfortable benches, flower beds and fountains. You can view the train schedule on the new digital scoreboard located right at the entrance to the building. A major overhaul of Tehran’s Central Railway Station is planned in 2014.
