Dublin Civil Museum
58 South William Street, Dublin, Ireland
About the company:
The Dublin Citizens Museum is a popular Irish museum dedicated entirely to the capital city of Dublin. The museum is located in the historical center of the city and is very popular with tourists.
The Dublin Civic Museum is housed in the former House of the City Assembly, a beautiful 18th-century mansion. The exposition of the museum demonstrates the history of the development of the city from the day of its foundation to the present. Among the exhibits of the collection are ancient city signs and signs, old newspapers, paintings, photographs, various historical documents. A separate exhibition is dedicated to more ancient artifacts - objects left over from the Vikings. And one of the most valuable exhibits of the museum is the head from the statue of Lord Nelson. His sculpture had previously crowned a tall column, considered one of Dublin's most recognizable symbols, until the monument was destroyed in a terrorist attack in 1966. Only the head survived the statue.
In general, the Dublin Citizens Museum will be of interest to anyone interested in Ireland in general and Dublin in particular.
Entrance to the museum is completely free, and educational excursions are organized for groups.
