Irish Museum of Modern Art
Ireland, Dublin, Military Road, Kilmainham
About the company:
The Irish Museum of Modern Art opened in 1991. Of particular interest is the building in which the museum is located. It is a former Kilmainhan military hospital built in 1684. It, in turn, was built on the site of the monastery “Knights of St. John of Jerusalem”, founded in the 12th century.
The museum exhibits works of contemporary artists of Ireland, here you can see paintings and sculptures of the second half of the XX and early XXI centuries.
The museum is a closed square with a courtyard. The rather ascetic stone building of the former hospital animates a magnificent park, whose landscape design is made in the French style.
