Historical exhibition-museum "Dublinia"
St Michaels Hill Christchurch Dublin 8, Co. Dublin, Ireland
About the company:
The historical exhibition "Dublinia" is a unique Irish open-air museum dedicated to urban medieval life. The exhibition is located in the historic center of Dublin, on the hill of St. Michael - in the place where the Irish capital was laid.
Dublin opened to visitors in 1993 and immediately became a success, attracting more than one hundred thousand visitors each year. Dublin is not an ordinary museum, but a carefully recreated piece of old Ireland. The story of the medieval Irish takes place in a playful way. On the territory of the exhibition, part of the ancient city street, a piece of the seaport, a forge and much more were reconstructed. The exhibition staff, dressed in authentic costumes, introduce visitors to the life and realities of medieval Dublin. Here you can try on Viking clothes, visit a typical Irish house of those times or try to read a book written by ancient runes.
Entrance to the exhibition is paid, but this does not stop many tourists. Dublin is a really interesting place where you can spend a lot of time enjoying a complete immersion in the atmosphere of a long past era.
