Dalí's triangle. Figueres, Pubol, Cadaques
Description:
The Dalí triangle is the artist’s three main places, which are directly related to the name of the great mystifier and his Russian wife Gala.
The first point of our route is the Dali Theatre Museum, designed by the artist himself in his native Figueres (Catalonia). The museum houses the largest and most diverse exposition of the works of the famous surrealist, the basis of which is his own collection. You can see “Ghost of Sexual Attractiveness”, “Portrait of Gala with two ribs of a lamb balancing on her shoulder”, “Basket with bread” and many other works of the author.
Second stop in Cadaques. In 1997, in Cadaques, on the beach of Port Ligat, the house-museum of Salvador Dali was opened for visitors. This is an amazing ensemble of a number of fishing houses resembling a labyrinth in shape. You can explore the artist’s workshop, library, garden, living rooms. Now the house-museum is declared a national cultural and historical monument of Catalonia.
Third stop, Gala Castle, in Pubol. In 1968, the artist bought a castle for Gala in the small village of Pubol (Giron province), which he himself could visit only with prior written permission from his wife. These were the conditions for accepting this gift. She spent the last years of her life there and was buried. The atmosphere surrounding this amazing couple is present in this unusual house.
