Large tour of Valencia
Description:
Valencia is a unique city even for Spain at the crossroads of several cultures and religions, which proudly and deservedly bears the status of a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, every cobblestone in the ancient pavement can tell stories about the wars of the Moors and Christians, about the Crusades, which resulted in the Holy Grail - one of the greatest relics of Christianity, brought to the Cathedral of the city in the 15th century. The Vatican recognized this agate bowl as authentic, and every visitor to the majestic cathedral can see it - as well as the towering bell tower of Miguelete.
Valencia is the concentration of so many attractions in one place that every corner of the city is breathtaking. After all, here for two millennia lived, built, fought with each other, left and returned again. The result was an amazing architectural and cultural kaleidoscope, which for all the dissimilarities of its parts looks harmonious and unified.
The sight of the guests of the city opens amazingly beautiful places: the gate of the towers of Serranos, behind which hide the picturesque streets of the ancient city in the Arab spirit. Each ancient building “clings” with its elegance and style: the marvelous palace of the Marquis of two waters, the magnificent Silk Exchange in the Gothic style, the Church of St. Nicholas with amazing beauty baroque frescoes. Terrible and powerful medieval towers Quart, dotted with traces of cannonballs - traces of the siege of the city by the French army led by Napoleon Bonaparte.
The buildings of the era of European modernism conquer the elegance of every house - the central market, the station building and the Colon market are the best examples of Valencian modernism.
The modern appearance of the city is no less impressive. On the territory of the seaport of Valencia, the famous Formula 1 races were held, and in the waters - the American Cup frigate. The Turia River was partially drained due to frequent flooding, and now there are beautiful parks and the famous City of Science and Arts with its futuristic buildings and equally amazing contents.
One of the most outstanding buildings on the territory of the complex is the Oceanographic Museum, which presents the flora and fauna of all seas and oceans. Here you can cross the Pacific Ocean and see all its inhabitants – from the North to the South Pole.
