Sightseeing tour of Alicante
Description:
The tasks of this excursion are two: to help you get comfortable in a new city, so that it becomes convenient and understandable, as well as to introduce in general terms the history and cultural features of the place. The tour is especially suitable for the first days of your trip in Alicante: then it will be easier for you to navigate in it, in addition, on the way I show interesting cafes, restaurants, places for buying souvenirs, for walks and photo shoots.
In the process, we can stop for a breather in a cafe or bar, combining this process with tasting something local to your choice from the offered opportunities (this can be a glass of wine, beer, coffee, a popular nutty drink in the region in the summer, orchata, ice cream or pastries, tapas – snacks).
This tour is not a rigid route, not information verified by minutes and memorized by heart. The program is flexible, can vary slightly depending on the day of the week, time of day, weekends and holidays, your tastes, interests and physical abilities. A small group size will allow us to communicate in a dialogue format instead of a monologue. I will adapt the route and information for you as much as possible.
Cost:
1-3 participants: 100 €
4-6 participants: 130 €
Not included in the price: climb to the fortress, 2.7 € / member elevator or 5-6 € taxi cost per car
The price includes:
- The central market (if it is open, then we will go inside, admire the variety of sea monsters and fragrant and full of colors of scattering fresh fruits and vegetables, some of which may be unfamiliar to you). The market works in the mornings, from Monday to Saturday, so it falls out of the route during the summer evening excursion;
- embankment with a mosaic in the form of waves, which became one of the symbols of the city;
- The fortress of Santa Barbara (the second symbol of the city, which boasts not only a bright history of existence, but also the best views of the city). Upstairs can be reached on foot, by elevator or by taxi (2.7 €/participant cost of elevator or 5-6 € taxi per car, NOT included in the price). It is most convenient to walk down;
- The city museum, created in honor of the main city holiday Fugueras (held in June, is famous not only for the scope of festivities, but also for giant figures of wood, papier-mache and other materials devoted to various topics installed on the streets of the city and burned on the last night). The museum contains copies of the most interesting figures of different years, and I will complement the visit with a story about the holiday and its traditions. The museum is free, open from Tuesday to Saturday. Visit optional;
- sky-covering giant ficuses;
- The oldest quarter of the city is Santa Cruz.
- historical and very beautiful city hall building;
- the craziest street of the city, overgrown with giant flyfish;
- The point where sea level is considered in Spain (surprise: no, not from the sea!)
And you'll hear:
- Stories, legends, rumors, stories and jokes
- The cries of seagulls in the fortress and the noise of the sea
- Market Ghomon: flickers, compliments to customers, discussion of the latest news, so that everyone hears within a radius of 30 meters!
