Mediterranean wine
Description:
The gastronomy and wines of the region are another important part of the holiday.
The gastronomy of the province of Alicante is unique and diverse - rice dishes, seafood, fish, salted and dried fish, cheeses and sweets typical of the region. It is simply unforgivable to come on holiday on the Costa Blanca and not try the local cuisine. And, of course, local wine.
The wines of Alicante are not as famous as the wines of other regions of Spain - La Rioja or Rueda, but they are worthy of presentation.
The sun and sea breeze of the Mediterranean give the grapes grown here its unique taste of fruity freshness.
To get acquainted with local wines, learn about the history of winemaking in the region and local wine brands, you can visit the Bocopa winery - a cooperative that brought together more than 600 winemakers of the province.
You can taste the red dry wine Laudum, white dry wine Marina ALta from Moscatel grapes and sparkling wines Marina Espumante. Wine is served a light snack (cheese and ham).
Here you can taste the legendary local wine Fondillon - the favorite wine of the Count of Monte Cristo and Louis XIV.
In the winery, you can buy any of the wines you like without a markup. These wines are sold not only in the winery, but also in large supermarkets in the province, as well as in bars and restaurants.
After a trip to the winery, you will better navigate the wine map of the region.
