Homeland of Miguel de Cervantes - the medieval city of Alcala de Henares

The medieval city of Alcalá de Henares is located 37 km from Madrid. Since 1998 it has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. In this city was born the Spanish writer Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, the author of the famous novel “Don Quixote”. On the excursion we will see his house of the XVI century, one of the oldest universities in the world, walk through the narrow medieval streets with a great many churches, monasteries and university buildings, visit the Museum of Archaeology, a unique Catholic cathedral in which services are conducted only by priests with a doctorate. On the square of Miguel de Cervantes is a unique theater.
