Excursion to Tarifa and Gibraltar

Description:

We will go to the southernmost point of Europe – the town of Tarifa. From it to the coast of Africa is only 14 km. We will visit Cape Marroca, where in a whirlwind of fresh and humid winds, the waters of the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean join together. There are beautiful views of the African coast. You will walk through an ancient town with a rich history - and with it the whole history of Spain, since the 8th century, is inextricably linked. In Tarifa, we will visit the castle built in 960, which is now called "Gusman "El Bueno" - in honor of the knight from Leon, whose name was Alfonso Perez de Guzman. As well as the castle of St. Catalina, the city fortifications and the church of St. Mary, 13th century.

And then I'll take you to a special place - there are no tourists there - the Spaniards usually rest there on weekends. Only the locals know this place. Cozy beach for swimming and... excellent cuisine in a modest-looking restaurant, half of which stands right in the pine forest. This restaurant will not have a printed menu – you will be served what the Spanish fishermen bring from the night fishing. Having a good rest in this restaurant, we will go to enjoy the views of Gibraltar. I will tell you a lot about this Rock - since 1704, the British territory with a population of only 29,000 people and an area of 6.5 square kilometers.
