The Crystal Palace, built in 1887, is considered the most beautiful building in the park del Buen Retiro.
Both the palace itself and the artificial pond in front of it were built to organize an exhibition where flower collections were exhibited. It is a three-tiered building with a stone facade decorated with white columns, transparent walls and a roof.
There is now a winter garden inside the palace. Walking by the lake you can watch the life of squirrels, who chose it as their main place of rest. There are also several species of birds in the park.
