Thyssen-Bornemis Museum

Paseo del Prado, 8, 28014 Madrid, Spain

About the company:

The Thyssen-Bornemis Museum, being inextricably linked with the famous Prado Museum and the Queen Sofia Museum, is an interesting place to visit. It always attracts the attention of tourists traveling along the Madrid Alley of Arts.

The Spanish residence of the Thyssen-Bornemis Foundation, located in the Villahermosa Palace, houses over 1,000 works of art. They were all collected by Baron Heinrich Thyssen, his son Hans Heinrich and Carmen Thyssen-Bornemisza. The collection includes masterpieces of early Italian painting, seventeenth-century Dutch painting, German expressionism, geometric abstraction, impressionism, Russian constructivism and pop art.

The collection of the museum, recently expanded by another 220 paintings, is a perfect addition to the Prado Museum (in terms of ancient painting), and the Queen Sofia Museum (in terms of modern painting). Here you can see the works of Durer, Caravaggio, Gauguin, Van Gogh, Klee, Hopper and many other masters. The uniqueness of the exposition of the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum lies in the fact that here you can see exhibits belonging to styles and trends that are poorly represented in other museums in Spain.
