The Maison de la Victoria Museum

ví a Pasillo Santa Isabel 10 E, Malaga, Costa del Sol, Spain

About the company:

Meson de la Victoria is a luxurious mansion of the 17th century, where today the Museum of Arts and Folk Traditions is located. To put it differently, this Ethnographic Museum covers in detail all aspects of the life of the peoples of Andalusia.

Traditionally, for a museum of this kind, objects are collected here that give an idea of the peculiarities of life, life, art, traditions, customs, in short, about all aspects of life of local peoples. In addition to tools, detailed interiors of the bakery, mill, etc. are reproduced here, and there is also a small but very cute exhibition of terracotta figurines that depict folklore characters.

As for the building itself, it was built in 1632 as a hotel owned by Franciscan monks from the monastery de la Victoria. Three stone floors surround a small courtyard. Several times the building was rebuilt, its real appearance it acquired only in the early 20th century. In 1970, a museum was located here.
