Seville is a unique reflection of Andalusian traditions.

The history of Seville dates back more than 2000 years. Founded by the Romans in 206 BC, the city became an important cultural center on the Iberian Peninsula in the XII century, during the rule of the Muslim Almoad dynasty.

It was then that a giant mosque was built, the former minaret of which, the famous Giralda, is still the main symbol of the city. Seville reached its peak during the discovery and conquest of America, thanks to its monopoly on trade with the colonies of the New World. The XVI-XVII centuries entered the world history under the name "Golden Age of Spain".

The population of Seville grew rapidly, and soon the city became one of the largest in the world. In this brilliant era, architecture and art flourished – the famous Seville artists Velázquez, Murillo, Zurbaran, Valdez Leal and Alonso Cano founded schools of art and decorated the walls of city monasteries, temples and palaces in a lush Baroque style.
