Seville Palaces: House of Pilate and Duenhas Palace

Description:

In the era of the “Golden Age of Spain”, Seville was one of the richest cities in Europe, so it is not only the residence of the rabbits, but also the palaces of world famous dukes. During the three-hour tour we will visit the most iconic palaces of Seville: the House of Pilate and the Palace of Duenhas, the residence of the Dukes of Alba.

Let’s start our exciting journey with Pilate’s House. The best example of urban architecture of the XV-XVI centuries, where all sorts of styles intertwined, Renaissance with Arabic tiles, carvings and a huge collection of classical antique sculptures. We will get acquainted with the founders and learn the reasons for the unimaginable state and wealth of the family, talk about the legend associated with the ashes of the Emperor Trojan himself, and whether the imposition of the house has anything to do with Ponti Pilate.

In the second half of the tour, we will head to Duenhas Palace, the residence of the Dukes of Alba. The most titled and rich family of Spain with which we are familiar from the paintings of Goya, and the late mistress of the palace Caetana Alba was a world-famous person, the only person who could not get up in the presence of the Queen of England, not bow to the Pope and go to Seville Cathedral on horseback. During the visit, we will see the first floor of the palace: the library with the autograph of Dali himself, the dining room, the chapel in which Amerigo Vespucci married, we will walk through the gardens where Montserrat Caballe visited and the famous Seville singing Antonio Machado.

This excursion is a unique opportunity to open the curtain of secrets of the most beautiful palaces of Seville, and to feel the greatness and history of the city.
