Isabella II Bridge
Description:
The Isabella II Bridge is one of the largest bridges that connects the city center of Seville with the Triana district, crossing the Guadalquivir River. Its construction was completed in 1852 during the reign of Elizabeth II. It is made of stone according to the design project of Andrei Oviedo. The construction of the bridge over the Guadalquivir River was quite problematic, as the Romans strongly refuted the idea of connecting the two sides of the city. The construction of the bridge began after the Christian conquest of the city.
Heavy floods and heavy movements of land that existed between the area of Triana and Seville, forced to constantly maintain the bridge construction of boats. Despite all the difficulties, Mdost was completed. Now the bridge is one of the main and most visited attractions of the city.
