Olympic Stadium in Seville

Isla de la Cartuja, Sector Norte, Edificio Suroeste, Puerta E,4ª planta, 41092 Sevilla, Spain

Description:

The Olympic Stadium in Seville is a multifunctional arena, the third largest in Spain, second only to the legendary Camp Nou and Santiago Bernabeu. It hosts many public events.

The stadium was opened in 1999 by the King of Spain. The cost of its construction was 120 million euros. The stadium has an oval shape. All stands are covered with a roof, and there are running paths around the field. The arena is equipped with the most modern equipment. The total capacity of the object is more than 57 thousand spectators.

The stadium was built to host the Olympic Games, which Spain applied for but did not receive a positive response. Therefore, the stadium is not the home arena of any club, although it was used for matches by the football teams Real Betis and Sevilla, during the reconstruction of their home arenas. For its short history, the arena has already hosted the UEFA Cup final, and the final matches of the Davis Cup and the King's Cup. Music concerts of famous performers are held at the stadium from time to time.
