Catholic Easter
Description:
Celebrations in memory of the suffering, death and resurrection of Jesus are the core of the Christian faith, because the fact that the Lord decided to bring Christ back to life means that the father approved the choice of his son’s life path, whether it be helping the poor, solidarity, brotherly feelings, love for his neighbors.
If we talk about traditions, before in Italy it was customary to spread on the eve of the holiday with the help of a torch on the houses of fire, lit in the church. Today, this ritual is reduced to the demonstration of the wonders of pyrotechnics.
In addition to traditional prayers, it is customary in Italy to arrange theatrical representations of the life, suffering, death and resurrection of Christ. The participation of people in such performances gives an opportunity to personally join in great deeds and a great loss for all mankind.
As it became clear from all the above, Easter in Italy is celebrated differently, from region to region, rituals, some traditions, dishes that are prepared by the hostess.
On Easter, all Italian women conduct general cleaning of apartments, real, not so-so. Otherwise, the mother-in-law will come and make an unthinkable scandal. "Who did you marry?" (This is a common phenomenon in Italian families, and everyone who cherishes family peace, rubs the floors, washes glass and window frames, in short, “licks” their nest to the last straw.)
The main Easter gift is eggs. This tradition has ancient roots. The egg symbolizes the beginning of a new life, spring renewal, and fertility. In religious tradition, the egg is a symbol of the continuing life and resurrection of Christ. Mostly eggs are given to children. Originally, Easter eggs were painted in bright, shiny colors so that they could symbolize the beginning, the dawn of spring, they were folded in baskets and given to family, friends, servants.

Easter is a very “delicious” holiday, usually the tables on this day are full of luxurious dishes, magnificent smells are carried around the houses and district, but again, on Easter in different regions of Italy, completely different dishes are prepared, for example, in Campania (Campania) - a sweet dish called Neapolitan cake, in Emilia Romagna (Emilia Romagna) - Green lasagna in Bolognese, in Friuli (Friuli) - a sweet dish with an interesting name "Easter cletch" in the second dish, like Lagrezio (Lagna) in the same way as Latrazhna (Lagna).
