Excursions to interesting places of Aosta Valley

Description:

We organize excursions to interesting places of the Aosta Valley. Such places include numerous castles, cathedrals, and, of course, the capital of the region is the ancient city of Aosta.
The region is located on the border of France and Switzerland and is surrounded by the highest mountains in Europe - Mont Blanc (4807 m), Monte Rosa (4632 m), Matterhorn and Gran Paradiso (all above 4 thousand meters). Valle d'Aosta unites 28 large and small ski resorts, including the world famous: Cervinia, Courmayeur, La Tuile, Pyla, Monte Rosa.

Aosta is located at the confluence of the Buthier and Dora Baltea rivers, where the roads to Mont Blanc and Gran San Bernardo intersect.

Aosta, the main city of the province, was founded by the Romans in 25 BC, on the Gallic Road – at that time the city was even called “Alpine Rome”.

The tour takes place on foot in the historical center of the city.

It includes visits to the Roman Bridge, the Arch of Augustus, the Praetorian Gate, the ancient Roman fortress wall, the Roman theater and the Roman forum, as well as the churches of St. Orso, St. Lorenzo and St. Mary's Cathedral.

The tour lasts about 2 hours.
