San Nicola Stadium is located in the Italian city of Bari. It is the 4th largest stadium in Italy and the largest building in the city. It hosts home matches of the Bari Football Club.
The stadium was built for the 1990 World Cup, which was held in Italy. The stadium immediately began to stand out for its extensive external form with sectors in the form of petals. Its capacity is more than 58 thousand people, although at first it was supposed to be no more than 45 thousand. The stadium has an oval shape with a roof covering most places. It was on it that the lighting system was installed directly on the roof for the first time in the world, which allowed to avoid the shadows of footballers on the field.
The stadium is the home arena for FC Bari. From time to time it is used for matches with the Italian national team.
