Barlett Castle
Barletta, Via Mura San Cataldo, 11-27
Description:
Barletta is a resort town on the Adriatic. Mil itself and interesting surroundings.
In the literal sense of the word in the center of the city is Barletta Castle - a powerful, thorough, even heavy construction. This is typical for southern Italian port cities. It was originally built in the 12th century by the Normans as a defensive structure. Over the centuries of existence, it has been repeatedly reconstructed and changed its appearance. This had a hand, including royalty - Frederick II and Charles V of Aragon, which is even mentioned on the sign at the entrance.
Currently, this castle-fortress on the beach is a kind of cultural center of Barletta. Here is the city museum, the main attraction of which is the bust of the Holy Roman Emperor Frederick II, a library and an art gallery.
