Dante Alighieri House Museum

Dante Alighieri House is one of the most famous museums in Florence. In this beautiful mansion was born and lived the great founder of Italian literature. The building is far from the real house of the poet, and is an excellent reconstruction of a residential building of the era of that century.

Inside it is an exposition, which presents various furniture, paintings and household items of the creator, some of them are authentic. There are also documents telling us about the works and life of the talented poet.

The building is located in a medieval quarter in the city center. On the facade of the house-museum is a bust of Dante Alighieri. In 2005, the building was closed for restoration, funds were allocated by a charitable foundation and collected by donations from local residents. However, most of the documentation and furniture was lost in the fire. Now there are fascinating excursions. The cost of an adult ticket is €4.00 and a child ticket is €2.00.
