Carriage Museum in Florence
Piazza de' Pitti, 1, 50125 Firenze, Italia
About the company:
The museum dedicated to carriages is located in Florence. This museum is located in the halls of the middle building of the Pitti Palace. The museum exposition includes the best examples of carriages, such as coaches used at the courts of Savoy and Lauren, whose reign falls on the XVIII – XIX centuries.
Here you can see the sedan of Ferdinand II of Bourbon, as well as three carts that were built by order of Ferdinand III of Lobarinia, between 1818 and 1820. The Grand Duke's personal carriage was made to drive three pairs of horses. The oldest carriage in the exhibition is elegantly decorated with elements of rockyle and dates back to the XVIII century. The windows of the imperial carriages are decorated with gold and richly decorated with wood carvings. Looking at the exhibits presented here, you can easily be transported to the city as it was several hundred years ago, and imagine what vehicles people of different classes moved at that time.
